Main problem of most marinas in the Bay area are fixed docks with short pilings. We rode out Irene in Solomons in 2011 with our Krogen 58 and found that we almost rode over the dock piling. Very wise to anchor our putting out the most chain you can afford. Fishing Bay is deep mud and your anchor will really sink down. Lots of clean-up later on but well worth it.
